Customer Support Engineers are typically assigned to support a specific customer site, region, or product, depending upon business needs.

This particular role is to be based in VSS EMEA on location of employment
primarily to support customers in that region, and secondarily to support customers VSS EMEA to backup other CSEs in supporting other locations in VSS EMEA.

Job description

The mission and purpose of Customer Support Engineer I (CSE) is to provide onsite and remote society .
Chamber Solution and other CTI system and equipment technical expertise that expedites resolution of customer issues and enables increased customer semiconductor tool uptime. CSEs accomplish this mission by:

1) Performing customer
support activities involving the installation, modification, repair and preventive maintenance of Chamber solution
equipment and systems to ensure proper working order

. 2) Isolating and resolving equipment malfunctions, and
implementing containments and corrective actions.

3) Working under minimal direct supervision following established
policies and procedures to ensure company and customer quality standards are met.

4/Assist/participate in technical problem solving on site at EMEA VSS Semiconductor andPV customers as well asresearch institutes.
Data collection on customer tools and assist in subsequent analysis of the gathered data and presentation offindings during quarterly business reviews (QBR) in customer meetings.
Contribute to presentation and implementation of suggested and possible corrective or preventive measures for performance improvement including assembly / disassembly of Vacuum components, failure analysis and faultrectification on Vacuum Systems as well as vacuum Leak Check of the system.
Installation of System upgrades of the Cryogenic and vacuum measurement controls (hardware and Software) aswell as other equipment used in the chamber solutions Division.



Work is scheduled to align with customer needs. Scheduling environment will be flexible to include Compressed Work.
Weeks (CWW), night shifts, and weekends in an individual or team basis. Candidate must be flexible and available for oncallassignments.

Candidate must be available and willing to travel, domestically and internationally as needed and be available for specific emergency on-call work. Overnight travel is typically less than 50%, but depending upon businessneeds, travel can vary greatly to as high as 80-90% of the time.
Candidate must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, reliable mode of transportation, qualified to obtain acredit card for expenses and able to obtain a valid passport for the term of employment.

Candidate must be qualified tomeet the requirements of background screening by a third-party agency. Candidate must be able to lift up to 25 Kg, climb ladders, scaffoldings, and use Personal Protective Equipment.

Candidate must be able to work in awkward positions and in confined spaces.

Candidate may be required to work in a Clean Room environment wearing a full clean room suit.

Profile description

Requires an associated degree or recognised diploma in a technical field with a technical certificate or equivalent.
Requires a minimum of 3 years related work experience or proven track record in a technical industry sector.


Technical Bachelors degree preferred.
Requires good systematic troubleshooting skills utilizing a structured and comprehensive process to determine the root cause of a cryogenic system / equipment technical issue, with the ability to handle problems independently and implement corrective action.


Requires commitment to resolve problems and experience / confidence to make decisions based upon the priority of he problem in relation to business needs.
Requires good communication skills with ability to read, write and speak with clarity in Local and English language and interface effectively with customers and peers.
